Advanced Battery Charging System

Any recommendations for or against the bmw Advanced Battery Charging System part # 82.11.0.406.881?

You didn't mention the price. It's a battery charger, BMW doesnt make batterys or chargers, so why waste your money?

I use a ctek smart trickle charger - they go on sale at Canadian tire for about $40. It's all you need, I have used it for years for both the car in storage and the trailer batteries over the winter...

The BMW advanced battery charging system is produced by Deltran under private label(BMW), same unit as the deltran battery tender plus, about $65.

Good unit, I use this with the cigarette lighter adapter(about $12)

What?

You plug it in to the lighter? i didnt think they worked until the ignition was on (at least my front one seems shot in my E38), not tried the rear one yet.

What about the dual battery cars (E38 / E66)?

Been using it for the past 3 years, google Deltran and the lighter adapter...
the ignition does not need to be on.. some car vacuum and air pump use the lighter hookup too
