Did you actually used the pressurized water (power washer) and shot it on your engine?
I need to find an oil leak but i'm scared as hell to spray water in my engine bay and run into all sorts of electrical problems...

Sure did. Pro tip:
MAKE SURE YOUR DRAINS ARE NOT PLUGGED SO YOU DON'T FLOOD THE ECU.
COVER THE ALTERNATOR IT HAS TO STAY DRY.
Spray away, Everything else will be just fine. Also, I forgot, I blew everything dry with my air compressor and a air wand, Don't wanna leave it wet either.
If shit does get wet, disconnect the batt, dry it all out and it will be fine.

I have been washing BMW engines for about 15 years, NEVER had a problem. Sometimes even when the engine is running, even over alternator.
Some other cars are not as good, Subaru's would need 15-30min to start after soaking wash...
