troll already listed some like the btcc...honda challenge and a number of other series in europe and/or around the globe...but then again depends on if you consider that high level or not. I would.
If all you think about is f1 as being high level... oh well.
like most racing series they have rules(and as mentioned) dont allow fwd(that could be intredasting to see) , just like nhra doesnt allow turbos. (a common example of people saying supers are better  )
racing series all have different rules and regs , as Im sure you know.
weve already been through this in this thread Im pretty sure.
these look like some serious cars to me..
http://youtu.be/aXpStVvI1WY
not bad for a fwd shit box.
also double sure OP got shilacked by a civic in a video he posted here
also sure there are plenty of rwd cars that get worked by fwd cars in the ctcc too.
anyways. sucks OP is getting rid of the car so soon after all that work. But sounds like he may do up an e9x of some kind for ctcc?

haha no spare shell yet
plus my motor would not be competitive (maybe in touring car, but then the chassis wouldn't be eligible!!).
Gonna start with a chump car build - it's cheaper that way, then we'll see where I get!

Ya man, chuck your motor in an E46 shell... perfect fit for touring car. What happened to the red shell 8legs had?

Yup my plan is to build an E90. I'm not going to keep it a secret.
Going to try to copy lots from the WTCC 320's. I already have the right seat and shift knob

why build an e90 when you could tweak the e36 and beat it?

For whatever it's worth, I'd start by learning how to race with your E36, a car you're familiar with that's done and working, in a lower end series. Take some racing schools. Then there's BMW Club, GT Sprints etc. There's a lot more to racing than lapping quickly, and you're talking about diving in with some of the best amateurs around right off the bat.

Lol yeah like I have no idea what I'm getting into right?
Obviously I can't jump straight into CTCC. Ill have to drive the new car in regionals for a year to get the car and myself sorted.

I think you can learn plenty racing the E36, then when you're comfortable with your racecraft and are competitive, build your CTCC entry. Just a little unsolicited opinion...
EDIT: if nothing else, you can find out if you're cut out for it and like it. I don't even mean doing many seasons, just start by getting your license, getting signed off and trying a race or two in the E36.
