Another update:
60% of the body work is done. A few places need some fabrication still, but the car is sanded and filled and blocked, except for those areas.
I've found a few places where there was body work, which I'll post photos of later.
Here are the two latest colors to choose from. (I want this car to turn heads, I don't care about how much upkeep)
Malbec Black: black with purple metallic flake
Meteor Gray Pearl

+1 for black... I find grey/silver cars boring.

So I welded in a new rocker on the car yesterday. It looks very good.
I started cutting away the roof as well, it's not too bad, but it's in a bad place along the seam.
I'm going to cut that out, clean the seam, acid wash and put a new top skin on it.
For anyone who knows, is this the single pin brown top sensor that I need, from the E30?
This one looks a little orange to me...
DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!! I'M NOT WORKING ON YOU TODAY!!!

Yeah, it was a 220 V welder, but with more temp settings and I got a better temp for the thin metal.

Yeah, the one with the continuously spinnable heat control is better than my multi-tapped version, which it probably was.. Great work!

So body work is ticking right along! : )
The whole car has been filed and smoothed (over and over) and most of the rust holes have been fixed. We're just down to the sun roof and the rear quarter panel.
Going to get a few points sandblasted and primed this weekend hopefully!
This fender lip was an absolute mess, this is the part I'm most proud of, since I straightened it so well. :3
Luckily there's some cool cats in the neighbourhood who car help out.

Thanks guys, I'm excited to hit the primer and blocking stage next week. My arms...not so much.

Hehe heh, he thinks he's helping but he's just covering everything in hairs. :S And yeh, thats why I'm still so far behind in this bodywork, I just spent a week surfing and snorkling.

I have a feeling when I see this car painted I'm going to cry...and wish I still had it.
