FOR SALE: 1995 540i/6

Hi guys,

Up for sale is my 1995 540i/6 speed. Roughly 280 000kms, Oxford green on parchment, build date Feb 28, 1995. Mostly stock - mods are as follows:

In-dash CD player installed by the P/O (with ipod hookup) and trunk mounted Blaupunkt amp
18" OEM staggered style 5's (you all know how rare these are),
Eibach springs
Bilstein sports
MarkD tune (original chip included)
Cats deleted

Included with the sale are the stock 15" rims with Michelin X-ice snow tires (roughly 5000 kms on them).

Runs well, clutch bites hard. Since I purchased it the following parts/issues have been addressed/replaced:

new battery
new starter motor
new front control arms
new front brakes (Zimmerman rotors, pads)
new water pump
new valve cover gasket

I think I'm missing a few things, and will check my records and update accordingly. I have some records from the previous owner(s), but they're not complete. The work has been done at Bimmersport in Toronto, and Euro Imports in Kingston.

The car is in excellent shape, despite the mileage (which I know is high). I'd give the exterior 8/10 - there are a few minor stone chips, and a noticeable scratch on the trunk. The interior is near-flawless - easily a 9.5/10. No nikasil issues - I only put 94 octane in it (and the tune was calibrated for that octane).

I would like to sell it saftied and certified, but that will involve me finding/installing a set of catalytic converters - happy to skip this and adjust the price accordingly - will be pursuing that over the next week or so.

Some of these are really recent, some taken a few months ago - condition of the car is the same.

Asking $6250 saftied and certified - I know this is in the high range for these cars (bring on the comments), but the condition is remarkable; you need to see it in person (plus, rims alone are worth 2k) - Without the cats, the price would obviously be lower - on that point, I'll negotiate with prospective buyers. Reason for the sale is that I just finished law school in Kingston, and I'm moving back to Toronto (downtown) and no longer require a car.

Update: catalytic converters will be installed next Tuesday at Bimmersport, so will be emissions ready by then.

Not sure if I successfully got back to you - was out of town and reception on my phone was spotty at best. The car has been driven in the winter, at least by me for one season (hence the winter tires on the stock rims)- can't speak to the previous owners, but I'd say the chances of it not being winter driven before this past season are pretty low. That being said, the body is in remarkable shape - no rust that I've seen
