Save new E30 vert for summer only driving.
Copy that!

Bring grills, bumpers and kidneys.
Roger!

Dave?
Do most E30's there have LSD?
That's a very rare option here.
And your car.....ix? That's the 4wd version isn't it? Unheard here. Never sold here, never heard of anyone bringing one into the country.
I SO want to see one.
And, yeah, I know EXACTLY where Bradford is. Used to date a girl from there. She worked at the Cookstown branch of the same chain I worked for in Barrie.
That big highway stop on the 400. Do you think I can remember the name? Nup!
Anywho, the big truckstop. Had a sitdown restaurant, a takeaway food bar and petrol....sorry, Gas pumps.
The Wayfare!!!! Memory came back. Not sure if the Cookstown one had the same name or not. I think it did.
Now...what was HER name?
Wanda somebody.
Buggah! Never mind.
Cheers
Jim
I disagree with the driving in the winter issue; I repair these cars time to time and one of my customers has an 88 cabrio with 345k on it. Winter driven and just a touch of surface rust on the right lower fender. Was rust proofed each year. Krown isn't the best rust proofing out there. It can get washed out with driving especially in the wheel well area. This is what I was told by a Krown guy. you need something thick and dripless.

Salt is being used in Toronto still, but it is now a liquid solution being sprayed and not so much the rock salt kind. Moisture also makes a car rust. I haven't driven my 325is for 2 years in the winter and I can see gradual surface rust forming. mind you it stays outside but will happen especially over winter so a car cover and or garage would be ideal. Mine is filled with crap at the moment.

Not all E30s have LSD some were ordered with it and some came standard depending on the model. 325is came standard with 3:73 or 4:10 depending on transmission. 325ix also came standard with LSD regardless of transmission. all other models had open diffs. the e30 is great in winter. one rule that needs to be followed. PUT A DAMN GOOD SET OF WINTER TIRES ON ALL 4 WHEELS!! I never got stuck with my car except when I put some cheap winters on and then I was in trouble. the newer bmw's have more trouble in the snow.

As for keeping the convertible for summer driving? we have factory hard tops here too. :-)

Lastly as mentioned guys will buy "winter beaters" even if they are bmw's and use those instead our restored garage queens!! LOL
