2001 330CIc Convertible Top STOPPED working

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone has had this problem.
It all started a couple days before i put my car away for the winter. I went tot he put the top up, stopped it half way by releasing the button then try to start it up and again and got nothing. i Manually closed the roof and then tried to put it back down nothing budged. just a red blinking light.
I kinda wanna fix this before the spring.
anybody have an idea how to fix it or how much it would cost at the dealership?
Anything comments will help

Thanks

Does it go all the way if you don't release the button half way? Sounds like a sensor problem.

Any update on this? I have the exact same problem. Thinking sensor or broken wire but if there is a quick fix, I'm all ears

Hey, it was all fixed with stuff around the house. Here is the link of what i used. the only thing you have to be careful with is, usingan exacto knife to cut away the black meshing.

Check your manual, if you remove your hand from the button before the light turns off (opening or closing) the top will stop and switch light will blink. You then need to wait 15 minutes before you can use the button again. It will continue to blink until it is fully open or closed even after the 15 minutes.

Cost- $0

Mine stopped on its own a few inches from the windshield and started flashing while i was holding the button I had to finish putting it up manually.

Finally got to this. The brown wire was completely broken. Spliced in some new wire and used shrink wrap. Good as new!
