Any history/recognition of this 2002?

Hey all,

Just figured I'd see if any of the long-term members of this site recognize this 2002. It's been ours for the past 5, maybe even 6,7,8 years. Just thought it would be interesting to know some of the history.

It has E21 Recaros & a 6 speed transmission. Any idea of what the 6 speed transmission could be? Obviously not a factory option. The bell housing bolts directly up to the motor. I am stumped about what it could be. In the long period of time we've had it we still haven't had it up on the lift to see what it could be from any markings underneath. It is a real 6 speed though, I've driven it and put it into 5th/6th gear.
