M3 wont idle

hey guys just finished rebuilding my 97 M3 and now it won't start. it cranks then dies if I press the pedal it will stay alive but runs very poorly. I don't have any check engines except for the 02 after cats which are not plugged since the exhaust aint on yet. I'm thinking bad gas in tank the car hasn't ran since sept. 2011. anybody have an idea on what the issue could be? my next step is putting 40$ of 91 oct. in it and trying it again...but I'm sceptical.

help please!

You put the motor back together yourself? ICV, MAF and vacuum hoses all hooked up?
