Correct me if I'm wrong but an old college buddy who hailed from Alberta said that is how they do it there. If you hit a ride check, no option, you blew into the breathalyzer.

more cops 'just folllowing orders' . all those people tested/searched had their rights violated & could sue.. as they were forced into a search without any probable cause or reasonable suspicion that a crime was committed. go read the charter of rights & freedoms.

thats why MADD is pushing for it - because they're not suposed to test you, unless there's reasonable suspicion

Definitely not all ride checks are like that, they always do them next to my place and most people are allowed to drive through.

^ Yup, I've been in a few AB "Stopchecks" and they just ask you the same questions as here. Mind you I was always in an F350 work truck with a well known firm's logo on the side.
