no idea guess it should be better handling I got 17x7.5 in front and 17x8.5 rear.
94 and 95 M3's had same sized rims all around.

Larger rear tires can cause the car to understeer more, that is why they were added to the post '95 M3, to make it more "friendly" to the average driver.
