it was said in the news, that his parents left for china 3 days earlier to attend his grandfathers funeral.... looks like when they get back they will attend his...
as a side note: the 19 yr old idiot driving the land rover is out on 20g bail... from the news footage he's a typical hipster doofus with mommy shielding him from the media.

Holy shit! Looking at the video, from what you can still see of the car, it looks somewhat intact considering. He must not have been wearing his seatbelt i guess. Thats scary though. I agree with you guys, he was driving like an idiot clearly. But I feel so bad for his poor family.

He may have been driving an SUV, but that 330i IS his car. He work at J's Autobody on Heritage Road/McCowan.
CityTV was at the garage in the morning and they were paying respects in a traditional Chinese manner yesterday when I was at my friends shop.

The local paper reports that it was an M3, so the initial police info must have been incorrect.

There is NO doubt! You dont get into an accident like this, with a car like that, if you are doing the speed limit and wearing a seatbelt! NO WAY, no how...Still sorry for the guy, (mostly his family tho, but he had it coming)

Given the time of day (or night) when the acident happened, he could've simply fallen asleep, stepped on the gas, woke up, overcorrected, slammed into the curb and started rolling. Unlikely - sure, possible - yes.
On the other hand, this accident smells more like a drag race to me...
RIP

We've witnessed him driving recklessly in the complex parking lot itself, it isn't all that long, but he would floor it all the time.

Well, as much as realize how this dude messed up his family's life, there are other factors in Toronto where we should blame the goverment. Over the last two decades too many new immigrants moved to Canada, but the city remained pretty much with a same infrastructure from the late 1980s. On top of that, too many or most of them are working two, three jobs to live propaganda posh lifestyle so they could bitch around how much their house is worth. That's why I never understood why would anyone be pushing the car to its limits in the area where they should't be.....
