I did my pan with the car on jack stands while lying on my back... I wanted to kill myself.

Pan's not that bad, my god it's one million times easier than a non-BMW motor swap. Just unbolt the steering rack, bend the tabs out of the way, unbolt the pan and slide it out.

My problem wasnt the pan so much as the sump! I have big hands and couldn't get in there to put it back together.... I considered getting my 5 year old nephew to do it.

Thanks Ryan, but everlast lent me some spacers. Those matched with my civic steelies are a perfect fit.
But now my oil pan is done.
And really? Everyone was telling me I gotta raise the engine and shit :S figured if I'm lifting the engine might as well get an early start on the swap.
I'll try and remove the pan today and let you guys know.

Damn sorry to hear. I went through 3-4 oil pans when I use to ride that low. Just swap the pan. Unless its welded properly expect leaks my friend. I have learned my lesson and now I bought a skip plate for when the coilovers get installed. If you want one let me know and I can send you the contact info.

Lol. Is that thick enough? I thought street signs were made out of aluminum? Might not be sturdy enough IMO.

Lol, I have a stop sign in my garage xD
Yeah please do send me the info for the skid plate, I was gonna make one. I just didnt expect the pan to go so early. How much is it setting you back cost wise?
The guide Im reading says just loosen the mounts and jack the engine up a bit, I guess thats the way to do it.. I'll try it out.
As for the swap I want, Im not sure. It most likely will be a jdm engine, so an sr20, rb20, 1jz/2jz, etc.. harness splicing would be the hardest

SR20 is easy. You're welcome.
Also, Woofer.. Could you send me some info on skid plates? Thanks!
Edit: If you DO go SR20, I have a crazy light flywheel for a redtop if you're interested.

Hey guys. Here is where I got my skid plate. Ask for Carlo. Good guy to deal with and shipping was pretty fast. I think I waited a week after payment.

Yes they do. It's 20 bucks more I think. Just speak to Carlo. He will set you up. If you car is low then this should be a no brainier. Unless you have access to making your own one.
