I was going to put my summers on today and this is what I found on both my rears.
I cant believe they r still holding air?i bought them 2 summers ago.
Anyone have a pair of 245/40/17's for sale or a pair of 225/45/17's?

I've got a pair of 225/45/17 Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S tires. about 65% tread remaining. $80obo for both.

Sorry for the huge pics.i find it strange that it would happen to both rears.the car sat in the garage for about a month with these on in december while I was out of town.
Wh en I got home I changed over to my winter setup n stored these in my garage.i dont know how I didnt notice this?

Where did you store them? Temperature fluctuations can deteriorate the rubber a lot faster. If you bought those tires in 08 chances are they are at least 4-5 years old so at the end of their life anyways.

I planned on getting new or newer tires anyway.i was gonna throw these on and rip the shit out of them this weekend.
I had them stored in my shed out back.i have stored tires there for the last few years with no problems.

Did you let 1/2 the air out for storage? I always do that and I dump a bunch of tire juice on them at the same time to keep the rubber supple.

No,never knew it was neccessary.will do from now on.

^^i wouldn't recommend it. As far as i know, the best way to store tires is to keep them inflated (or inflate to max) and leave them standing on their contact patch away from concrete or anything else that might dry them out.

I have 22 year old snow tires that came with my 318is which are still perfectly serviceable and were stored in an unheated garage.

The manufacture date was 09/09.i usually store my tires in the unheated shed.1 was stored in the unheated garage with concrete floor n the othr was stored in the shed with a wooden floor.both tires hav the exact same split?
