5 speed swap
Hey guys. I have an 84 318i auto and am trying to collect the parts for a swap. I have a tranny, shift linkage driveshaft, centre console and diff so far for the 5 speed swap. I need to know exactly what else i still need, yes even the obvious stuff. i have read a ton of threads and there is no comp[lete list of parts, that i can find to do entire swap, including the small bits and pieces. I need to start collecting the parts to have it done by summer. cheers guys and thanks for your help

Tranny(obviously)
Clutch and Flywheel
Shift linkage if it didn't come with the tranny
Pedal Assembly
Manual tranny brake fluid reservoir
Clutch hydraulic line and solid tube linking the master and slave
Driveshaft
Centre console and diff aren't needed unless your looking to upgrade and I think that's about all i bought with mine.

You dont need that either. Just disconnect the tranny cooler lines.

That pretty much sums it up, I think, other than I don't think you need a different brake fluid reservoir. Yours should have a little spout on the side that you can just snip off the tip to allow the fluid to run down. Make sure you use the proper blue hose though. You'll also need the shift carrier if it didn't come with the tranny and linkage. Also, you might need a different tranny support cross member, but I can't be sure with the old M10. Your diff should be a 4.10, so you don't need to change it.
