Christmas came late!! efff yes!!

A couple of years ago I bought a set of rare BBS's date stamped 1987. They are perfect e30 fitment (4x100, 57.1CB, 15x7 ET24) named "BBS Junior Line's" You've seen them on my coupe and my vert, but always without caps. They came with three caps in good shape, but the fourth cap was a frankensteined BBS RJ cap that was painted with a brush to try to match the proper three. I never ran them though in fear of losing one, or having them stolen, or just not wanting to rock the ugly cap.

Here's BBS's catalogue pics. BBS North America never offered these rims here, and were no help at all when I asked them to find out if they have any in Germany in the warehouse. Thanks BBS NA.

(story continued below)

Here's the cool story for all the bro's:

I just received an email today from someone whom we all know. It's title was "Found something for you", followed by "I just bought these today" What could it be? I don't know! Lets open it up and see. Attached file: "Scotts rare caps"

OOHHH HEEEEELLLLL YYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAA!!!!

Now I have 5 good ones!!

So who found these for me? Our buddy "411"!!

I don't know what he did wrong, other than his impossible to read messages, but he gets a vote from me for reinstatement!

Dude, we've got four e30's... you know how often I have to replace these bloody things?! I've got it down to a 10 minute job! Plus, I sold one (and installed it) to John last winter on the coldest night ever. I then had to buy one from BigD to compensate for the low stock! I've since replaced two resisters and one blower since. Always good to be prepared!

How often is often. Mine hasn't gone yet. Although I thought it went about a month ago. It was when it was fairly cold out. I get in start the car up start driving. The fan is on 1, I click it to 2 starts shooting out of the vents.. I'm like FUUUUU!!! and pull on to a side street quickly and shut the car off. I pop the hood and look.... nothing happening there. I get back in the car... by the smell of the smoke it was clear it was from an electrical melt down. In my mind I'm thinking it was that ****ing mouse that was living in my car while I was in Europe. It had made a nest under the rear seat and chewed on my speaker cable... who knows what else it chewed on. So I start the car back up.... no more smoke. The fan works fine on all settings. I check the radio... everything seems fine. Nothing is acting weird. The car has been fine ever since. So clearly there was a cluster of unimportant wiring somewhere behind the dash that decided to commit suicide. I'll pull apart the dash in the spring when it's warmer to try and find out what actually went down.

E30 FTW

Well, once or twice a year I seem to have to replace either a resistor or blower on one of the cars... With four e30s the chance of me having to replace one or the other on any given car increases. I've never installed a new blower, just used, and usually install new resistors... I hate doing them when it's cold, so I'd rather install a new resistor and know that it will be good for a long time. Only two of our cars have new ones so far. I haven't touched my dads car yet, but last winter his thermostat stuck open, so he wasn't getting any heat. E30 FTW
