Ice racing in Minden Ont.

Sorry its not a bmw but I pass a few E30's.

This is a 1995 geo metro that I've installed a yamaha R1 bike engine in the middle and converted to awd,I run in the street studded tire class.

Were you running with rwd'ers? I thought there was only awd, rwd, fwd classes?

To save time the rwd and awd run together each in their own race.

Ok I'll post up some info I guess, the car is now chain drive using 2 suzuki swift/geo metro diffs with spockets mounted in place of the ring gear. They are mounted between 2 steel plates with sealed bearings,a home depot toilet plunger cut to fit over the diff and then filled with cv grease. The diff plates are tied together with 1" square tubing that runs the lenght of the car and provides the framework for attachement of panels.
The entire rear suspension was cut out and the front suspension of an old chev sprint(1st gen swift)was custom mounted in the rear.A jackshaft with a dual sprocket runs from the bikes countershaft to a bearing and drives each diff.
The tensioners are rub blocks with spring tension but they haven't been very reliable so a fixed nylon roller with a bearing pressed in is about to be mounted tonight for testing this weekend.

The engine is an '02 running on megasquirt,it came out of the open wheel car I built from scratch and will go back in it when ice race is over.
