Tires for safety

Would anyone know if a car by design doesn't come with a spare tire and only run flats need to be replaced with similar run flats to pass Safety or can it be conventional tires?

Thanks

Stephen

depends on the mechanic doing the safety.

E39 M5 = no spare tire.

I've had three Ontario safeties done on 2 different E39 M5's. One at an indy shop and two at chain shops. Never been a problem with non run flat tires.

Good luck

Car must be in the same condition, with the same equipment as from factory. M5's and so many cars after never came with runflats, but have no spare, but that's how they were designed from the factory.

If you are concerned about passing safety, just put any rim/tire in the trunk when you go get it done, take it out right after if you don't want it, nobody can make you have it.
