oh and BE PATIENT! there are lots and lots of E46s and early model e90s... summer ain't for another few months.

Its like that story in the movies Colors:

Two bulls are standing on a hill overlooking a pasture full of cows. The young bull eagerly says to the old bull "Hey, let's run down there and **** ourselves a cow. The old bull chuckles and calmly replies "Let's walk down, and **** them all".

Good point. but unfortunately my car is on its last legs and I absolutely hate it. so i need something for a decent price right away, cause im ready to drive it off a cliff lol.

and I want 2000 or newer, and under 7.5k.

I found a 2000 Dark green 323ci in great condition and well maintained, no accidents and for a decent 5000$ asking price. Certified and Etested. i think i might go with that cause its black interior and I can make it my own since its stock then have it painted to a color I want, i might go that route.

323? lol. Get a 330 with your budget. You will always kick yourself for not getting a faster 3 series. Put it this way, you won't buy a 330 and wish you'd gotten the 323... you may wish you had the M3 though, lol (like myself ).

If you are going to repaint it, why not save more and just do it right from the start?

Used cars

We should be careful in buying used cars. We must be good in assessing those cars. Anyway, there's a new guide from NADA on used vehicles which estimates that the price of used cars will be increasing. The price of used vehicles has always been determined by the inventory and demand for automobiles. This year, stock is anticipated to be short, which means that the cost of used cars will be increasing.Resource for this article: Used cars expected to get even more expensive . I still prefer used car since I do not have much money though it will be more expensive now. But it is still much affordable than the new ones.

I'd avoid the 323/328 altogether, too many subframe issues.

325 will drink a bit more gas than the 330 (yes, even with the smaller engine), and will be noticeably slower given the same transmission.
Generally, a 325 manual will be as fast as a 330 auto. Around 7 seconds to 60.

Personally, I don't like the way facelift sedans look especially non-sport.

Ideally, high performance such as Stewart or at least metal throughout -- they should be comparable to OEM price wise and will last a lot longer!

^^^ what he said... but I am better looking! :p
And I would replace your pulleys with ALUMINUM ones instead of the PLASTIC they have now. Check the radiator too!

how do i close this thread? BMW in newmarket is going to change all the fluids, and fix what ever might need to be fixed aswell as saefty/etest the car. might not even be the water pump, might just be the thermostat, but the pulleys are in need of changing they squeeled really loud, so by friday i should be fully on the road.
