To be fair, it's probably the closest a production car has come to its prototype in a very long time. They can't do lowrider height on a production car for legal reasons. So throw on some bigger rims, drop it, and you're pretty much there. There are going to be TRD bits to make the rear look like that too, or even cooler (well minus the awesome tail lights)
It wasnt so much the ride hight I was concerned about. It was the changes they made to the front and rear lights, and a few subtle body lines they moved around on the front end. I'm interested to see what Subaru does with their version.
The price worries me. If a well equipped one is going to even breathe in the direction of 35k, I would probably buy a Mustang GT instead. It's a really cool car but 35k for a 200hp compact is asinine. And judging by WRX prices (and this also being a Japanese car, leading to our wonderful Canadian tariffs), this could well happen if it's really 25k in the US (WRX = 25.5 US -> 32.5 CAD)
My other worry about price is that when a new WRX comes out, people snatch them up for thousands over MSRP. So the hype alone that Toyota has done extremely well to build, could make this car cost retarded money, at least for the first year or two.
Its all about money, if it looked exactly like the concept, it would retail for 60K +, since difficulty and time of production would be increased, not to mention investment necessary to upgrade the current turd producing production line ( cough corrolla cough or whatever else)
