Goldhawk's e30 project

Hey, I started a post about my car a while ago in the Windsor section - just thought I'd put it here since its more specific...

I got an '87 BMW 325e for a project
Bought it from Kingsville, the car is pretty clean for its age.

I found some hidden rust that I patched (known areas of rot on e30's)

Over the winter its getting lowered, and all bushings replaced, camber/toe adjustors etc...

Then after that I'm doing a motor swap, with a Solstice GXP motor (LNF)

Finally got around to getting something done - front suspension in all ripped apart, almost everything is getting replaced/improved.

I got some new stuff too; frt brake pads, IS sway bars, and a complete poly bushing kit.

Hopefully within a week the entire rear suspension will also be ripped apart.

That's looking cool dude! Not a bad car at all, from the looks of it.

You upgrading the sways? Any idea for rims or tires? Summer only I hope.

Lookin' good. I like the choice of powerplant, and think those Ecotec motors are bulletproof and have a lot of potential. Just curious though, why was it your choice?

Also, if you need a hand when the weather perks up a bit, I'm down in Chatham often and another 40 minutes to Windsor is totally doable.

There is an ecotec build book out there from gm. All part# needed for different build stages. It might come in handy for you if you want to see what that engine can produce.

I wanted to go with the ecotec cause I've looked a lot into them before. My original plan was to build up my own motor (so yes, I do know about the build book), but I got a good deal on the lnf.
For sway bars I'm upgrading to IS ones. Springs are FK, 60/40 drop.

Good deal man. I was looking at putting an SR20DET into mine, but M20 and boost is what I settled on.

Its coming along ok - I have the rear subframe out, and the gas tank. I've ordered a bunch of parts and waiting on them. Still have to clean up and paint everything.
And, when the subframe came out, the aluminum sleeves broke off in the car, so thats gonna suck...

I'm still undecided on camber plates - thinking os the SPC/Eibach ones, or the IE Street ones - anyone have input?

I've never used camber plates, so I can't comment on their quality or whatever. Good to hear the car is coming along well though.

I have IE Streets, they're noisy as **** when the main bearing starts to get play. I have to change them this spring. Otherwise, they're fine, but I'm using them with GC coilovers.

I can attest to the noise level. I thought his car was falling apart when we spun tires in 3rd gear up Merivale.

Where did you get the poly bushing kit? Does it include anti-sway bar bushings? For the IS?
