swapping non HK for HK

I picked up a 05' 330xi in the fall which has the navi but the car never came with the H/K stereo.

Im not looking to go aftermarket on the car, but looking for something better than whats in there now.

I was considering buying the HK speakers and installing them.

Im guessing the HK system used a different amp, and I dont know if my stock has a sub or not. curious if anyone has done the swap and its pretty straight forward plug and play or its gonna involve some wiring.

I would rather get the upgrade kit from bavarian soundwerks instead of the HK system. You get a much clearer sound from the kit compared to the HK system which people opted for in the E46.

I understand that the HK system isn't great, but im just looking for some improvement over the stock Non HK without having to shell out the cash for aftermarket stuff. Ive got a big boomin system in my m5 if I need my fill
Still just curious whether the amp and sub is a simple swap in. Thanks again for all the input
