Reset Oil Maintenance km on dash
I changed my oil and need to reset the km since the dash tells me I'm 4000km over due for an oil change. Is there a DIY for to reset this?
Thanks

1. Press odometer reset button on the left and hold
2. While holding the odometer reset button turn key to position 1 (ACC).
3. Keep holding button until service interval "reset" displays, then release.
4. Hold button in again until "reset" flashes
5. Now release and press odometer reset button once and release. You next service will be displayed and you are done.
Mark.

^^Pretty sure you do yours like this.

BTW, if you jump pin 7 to pin 19 (19 is a ground), with a piece of wire, that should do the trick. It's the same as late model e30s. Google is your friend.

No. The e36 is quite different, use a test light. Ground the test light clamp and probe pin 7.
Hold about 5 seconds for oil service and 7 to 10 seconds for inspection.
