So since I've got all winter, I figure might as well go all out on the brakes.
I had an old set of Ate E30 calipers kicking around that I had always wanted to put on the old Red E30 for whatever unknown reason, just never had a chance... until now where it will find an equally good home on the 2002. These are a bit different of a design than the usual Girling calipers the E30 usually uses. More closer to the rears I guess. If anything to justify the extra work, I like that the caliper manufacturers stay the same, and I have an excuse to put an Ate sticker on the car so it looks legit
Fronts got a bit seized from sitting around. So I'll need new pistons for these guys. I shot the brackets in the blaster because they were a bit crusty. They look nice now!
Rears were mint. Came apart no problem. Chucked 'em all in the bucket and off to plating! I can afford the downtime since it will be months before the car will turn a wheel on track. Down the road I will get some solid caliper bushings put in, but for now, stock will suffice.
Camber plates are done. Just need to go and buy a pair of bearings to pop in, and they can be installed. I'll get pics of those soon.

Hey Rudy
Since you were posting about vintage race decals/stickers, thought I would send you this.
These are available from Lee Vuong (Massive Brakes). I know you might want to make your own, so maybe you will see some here that you haven't thought of.

Hey Tony, thanks for the post. There is definitely a few on this list I would like to replicate for possibly another future 2002 project I have in mind (GS Tuning replica). Never heard of Herlitze though... no idea what that is.

Only thing I found when I googled Herlitze is a driver of the era, Bernd Herlitze. Not sure why it's on Lee's list though.

One big sticker I notice was missing out of Lee's list is Heidegger. When I googled it to make sure I spelt it right, I came across some pics that jogged my memory about the M12 powered 2002 they raced at Le Mans. It gave me some ideas that I could maybe head in that direction visually with my car, albeit updated slightly as far as wheels and stance goes. It would definitely help with giving the car more vintage appeal... What makes it super doable for me is that I have the same fenders, brand new kicking around. Its just a shame that I would do all this work and the powertrain is totally wrong.

Some pics I came across while surfing the net this evening...
Rudy, your car better be able to do this as well...
kind of cheese, but sort of cool as well...looks like it's p-shopped though, it could look cool if done properly, behind a tinted lens or something.

That guy has collected some very rare parts to go with that car. He's spent many years working on the restoration.

He better hurry his ass up lol! Word on the street is that BMW may be the featured marque for the 2013 Monterrey Historic Races! Pretty much as big time as you can get with vintage racing in North America! Last time that happened was in '96, but unfortunately, I don't remember a whole lot from that event.

What if we were to drive cross country and attend this? That would be a crazy experience!
