Paint repair on rear above bumper

Hey all,

My car is getting older! Things like rust spots start appearing like this:



That piece looks like it'll need attention ASAP before it gets too bad. If it does get bad, it looks like part of the shell which is not exactly replaceable. Has anyone had work done on something like this and care to chime in on costs?

thats probably just surface rust. a body shop will remove the bumper sand down or sand blast the spot, and fill if its needed.

they might spot paint, blend and blend the clear or paint the whole lip from the line that connects to the rear 1/4 panel.

cost? I wouldn't pay more that 200$ for that tiny bit of work. a shop with the appropriate tools would need maybe 3hours total labour

It could also look like shit if you don't know what you're doing. Paint matches tend not to be 100% accurate even from pro shops. There's a lot involved in paint. Don't do it unless you're ready to drop quite a bit for equipment and paint.

Go see JR autobody on Jamie street (just south of huntclub and merivale). They do good work for reasonable costs. It's a friends family business.
