disconnect the battery, and DOT NOT connect it until you have it all back together (air bag plugged in). Otherwise, your SRS light will come on, and you'll need to get it cleared.
Other than that, it's pretty easy. SOme torx bolts in the back of the wheel (hard to see, they hold on the air bag). The center bolt is 15mm I believe, and you might need a wheel puller to get it off. An impact gun makes the center bolt removal easy.

^^^16mm bolt, no puller needed on this one.

did you know there is still a charge left in the SRS system even though you disconnect the battery? Static electricity can set the air bag off...
I would be extremely careful and leery about removing this if you don't have such experience. Make sure the air bag is not pointing at you or facing down. If it goes off, you'll have a 100mile/hr projectile coming your way.

The airbags have a built in safety grounding tab that prevents static from discharging the airbags. You don't even need to disconnect the battery to do this. Just don't put the key in the ignition until everything is put back together.

I just did this last week (thanks Renboy for the stalk ). I was done within an hour.
I unplugged the battery and let the car sit for 30 minutes as per the DIY I found online.
Good luck!
