I wanted to get an aluminum housing anyway and I was thinking of doing the FDM. Has anyone done it and can vouch for reliability?

I am aware that BMW has a fan on the engine because the engine needs it, so I am wary of removing it. Can someone with experience and actual results chime in? Is this price too good to be true? I have no idea how much it would cost otherwise...

Do it the proper way. Get the electric fan kit from bimmerworld.com to replace the engine driven fan.
