For anyone else looking at this, I ended up trading this guy my stock sport suspension; he told me the shocks are perfect on the coilovers and never made noise. Turns out one shock was blown and I had to get it rebuilt from bilstein (sold them to a friend who found out the shock was blown after installing them).

There's always a catch to a good deal!

Not going to lie, I've encountered more theiving pricks on BMW boards than any other car forums I've been a member of. I've since become very cautious when dealing with others (especially on e46fanatics).

Sucks you got screwed.
