Lol at all the e36 hate here hahah, they are personally my favorite bimmers looking wise. And that e36 you posted is all riced out in my opinion. Oem+ is the way to go.

Alpina is OEM. I would just say that there are few cars in the mid to late 90s that didn't look like anuses.

That 530i is the perfect base to build a gorgeous E34 out of, that's why. Regardless of the motor / tranny, finding an E34 that is *CLEAN* is nearly impossible, I tried. This is clean.
It could look like this with so very little work:

Personally I'd rather find the right tranny and engine option first and foremost, then just spend a little extra in getting some body work done. I think that would be a better route than having to do a tranny swap, and being stuck with an engine that could potentially have some nikasil issues down the road, and an engine that has next to zero easy upgrades available. IMHO.

We all know that rust kills the car. Body work is way more expensive than a motor / tranny swap. For a daily, I would have rather had an auto to tell you the truth.
Regardless, I already broke the bank on the wagon. "Silverado" goes back to Otto's Monday.

I dunno. A car with some rust would be cheaper right off the bat, then spend 3k on rust repair/paint (providing frame isn't rusted), and I think you'd come out quite a bit cheaper and easier in the end than you would for the cleaner/more expensive car +swap. Just my thoughts.
Either way, didn't you already have an e34?

I did. I miss it.
That said, I really do love the E9x.

Ahhh.
Here are some cars being sold from an estate sale. There are also some 635CSi's for sale, but I didn't ask about them. They're located about an hour from Ottawa, I forget the city, somewhere near-ish to Cornwall.
1987 325iS (standard)
1987 325iS (automatic)

You could get all 3 cars for like 3grand. Have parts to swap and have a fully running E30 in a matter of a week.
