It still does not make sense listing the car over $4000 market value lol.. seriously??
If you buy a brand new car for $25000 before you drive it home the car is worth less than what you paid for it, lets say its worth $20000 after leaving the dealer, if you have to sell the car in a month or two with you still owing $24000 on it, would you list it at $26000? when brand new is $25000?
Stop making excuses, list the car right and live with it..
My GF have a 2004 expedition eddie bauer 5.4L, 4x4, fully loaded under 150k km on it, she'll be lucky to get $7500 tarde in and not much more if sold privately..

Reminds me of leasing an American product. I knew the buy back was quite high, which works great for the lease amount - especially at 0.9%
At the end of the lease, the buy back was $12K. The car was worth $8K I thought.
Returned the car, tracked it through the auction.
Saw it at another dealer for $6990. So, you know they bought the car for about $4K or less.

of course the stealership gives you less for trade in - they have to dump it off somewhere fast. You and I both know you would get more privately, but face the headache of scheduling in the time to view the vehicle
I wouldn't even consider the value of a vehicle decreasing once you drive it off. Its already lost value when you sign thre papers...
Right now, yes the vehicle may be over "market" value, but when the snow falls that " market" value increases. Again, this is just numbers of the values ones are selling for, not their real value. I do realize Jeeps are not highliy looked after for resale, but this is why its OBO - within reason.

My offer is $3,000. Low balling big time. But just letting you know if you need it gone, Ill buy it for that price and get it off your hands.
This is why you never buy big cars in Toronto brand new. Even at $3000 Im getting ripped off. The thing will drink like $5K in gas per year.

Hope you sell it soon, I need something for the winter but I think I might be going diesel instead because of the high mileage I'll be doing...

Lol. I never said I cant afford it. I said given the gas prices, an offer of $3,000 is fair lol.
And the whole "its almost winter " logic doesn't exist in Toronto.

^ That was probably my mistake. Outside of the GTA, that is a factor I've seen over the last 10 years, but with the recent gas prices, SUV's are a tough sell now.
Especially the ones that consume a lot more gas. - Think Nissan SUV's.
This little SUV, with the 3.7, does consume more gas than its class size.
You have to think, if it hasn't sold in 5 months, there is something grossly wrong. Calling potential buyers from jeepkings clowns.. right.
If you are looking for a Liberty, there are some clean low mileage (under 100K) 2005's around $9K. One Owner, Accident free. That's a good buy.
Almost bought a 2000 Jaguar S-Type, V8, 140K for $2K. Very clean car, no accidents. 1 Owner. Needed nothing for Safety too. My buddy needed it more.. Perfect to run it through the winter, and at the first sign of major issues, drive it to the scrap yard.
Will try to pick up an SUV(4x4) or F150 (4X4) at auction shortly..
... Still have snows for this Liberty...
