Advice on new tires.....

Hey Guys...

So after having my 19"Black Miro 111's/ Falken Fk452's stolen last week I'm looking at having to replace my summer set.

I loved the feel of the Falken's but noticed they were a bit slippery stopping in the rain at high speeds.

I keep hearing/reading about V-12's any one care to comment on their performance/safety?

I would like to find a nice set of tires that will perform and last me a few years. I do alot of highway driving but don't want to sacrifice performance and looks. I was pretty happy with the Falkens but would appreciate any advice or other recommendations.

Looking to spend around $1000 all in.

Any advice is appreciated thanx

price depends on what size you're running? Are you going with 19" again?

Depends on what size, for 19s you aren't going to get much for 1k.

V12s are a good choice, they are a decent street tire, thread life isn't great but most HP tires aren't. The Dunlop z1 SS are a great tire, but geared towards more aggressive driving (autox/track). Too much tire for the street IMO. They will also wear faster than the v12s.

Need a tire size to give you a better recommendation, as DD friendly 19s with decent thread life are limited.

Hey.. I have a set of V12s.. and you should NICELY be able to get a 19" set for well under $1000.. I paid about $850 for mine in 18" 225F/255R

At first they feel squirmy.. cus I came from hard RFT's.. but once they settled in they are GREAT. Just got back from a track day in the pouring rain w/ them.. and they performed flawlessly.. very forgiving.. and easy to slide. I wasn't a fan at first but I would highly recommend them now. Top merits in order:

1. Bang for your buck
2. Flawless wet weather traction
3. Minimal road noise
4. Hard to break - soft and easy to control in a slide
