wow, you're really coming along now! I'm also digging that cluster. It looks awesome. Very nicely done.
Hope she fires up today!!! Good luck Rudy!

^ Thanks guys! Unfortunately, nothing ever goes to plan right? Lol...
So yesterday, I started to button up the fuel cell. I needed one fitting for the return line, so I had my Dad machine this:
To this:
This was the old fuel cell 'cover' I guess we can call it. I cut around it, but it won't be the final piece as I want to buy all new sheetmetal for the trunk floor so everything matches. This will be perfect for fitment purposes.
I packed the cell with foam I found in the shop
All finished up and together, it looks like this:
Richard came by in the afternoon, and put in the lockstrip for me.
Last thing I did for the evening was mount my new spark box on the firewall

So obviously, things are taking a bit longer than I thought. This morning, I did some small things around the car, I riveted the clamps for the battery cable so its more orderly... I still have to take care of the wiring harness, but I'll do that when I run the brake line inside, and tie them both together.
Richard came by again in the morning, and we installed the window.
String getting ready
Popped it in without any issue
Richard installed the lockstrip... a few places it popped out. No big deal, just use a small pick and get the trim seated
So I'm watching Richard hit the trim with his hand on the left side, so I figured I could do the same on the right side and finish it off... when shit hit the fan. CRACK. Awwwww FFFFFF@@@@@&&#$#(*@#)##!!!!!11111
Obviously, I wasn't as calm as I sound now when that happened lol.

Whatever, the show must go on, right?
Started on switching that door. I was hoping that Richard could give me a hand, but he had to leave. Luckily he gave me a good tip on how to support the door while by myself. So I tore into it.
Old junky door. It actually isn't that bad rustwise, it just has a ton of bondo.
Took it apart, and cleaned the new one.
Managed to bolt it on the car and lined it up. Hey John, it looks kinda like the colour of your car
Got the windows and stuff lined up and installed. It wasn't all that bad to put together, pretty good system.
Mounted the mirror base
Saaawheeeeett!
Did the other side too
Fixed the leaking water port, and tapped the housing to put the pressure sensor in for the new idiot light on the dash.
Works minty! (amber light)
Now I know I said it should be running by now, but I'll definitely have it running tomorrow! All I have to do literally is put gas in, tighten the starter wires, and put the cap back on. Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow!

Do you have any idea how many times this has happened? I had one out of the parts car, but Richard came over to "hep" and now it's gone. Dave had a nice one in the black car, some "heppin' hands" took care of that one as well. Too funny, seriously buddy shit happens and you just gotta take it and move on.

Sweet! I was going to grab one from Richard, but this sounds good too. PM me how much you'd like for it. Thanks Kris!
Finally got it running! A few hurdles though including a face full of gas (damn that shit hurts in your eyes lol) and a faulty fuel pump relay (again!)
Here it is running... low idle due to a non functioning idle control valve, but that isn't bothering me since that stuff will be pitched soon. Don't mind the oil pressure gauge either, no input wire = pegged gauge. Yay!

Made a brake line today and didn't do much other than tie up a few wires here and there. I still want to take out the starter wire once more, and put a grommet into the firewall so it won't rub though and shorten out.
Fed the brake line in the car, and screwed a splitter onto the floor. Secured the wiring harness along the line too, so it looks nice and clean.
