MOD DESCRIPTION:
So I was cleaning my car the other day. I used an interior spray and was wiping down my door panels. I noticed that the spray had faded the silver on my HK symbol on the speaker. I tried to clean it but it only got worse. Here's what I did and it turns out that its looks even better than before!!!
-Use a very fine sand paper (1000+) and sand down the symbol until it is all flat black.
-For the edges, your probably going to have to use a utility knife to scrape the fake brushed silver off. Be sure to not damage the surrounding speaker cover.
-Now you need a nice strong wax to fill in the grooves of the "harman/kardon" lettering. Make sure its WHITE! I used good ol' turtle wax that comes in the circular green container.
-Your gonna want to keep it clean so tape off the surroundings of the symbol to avoid getting wax in the fabric.
-Now simply take some wax in your fingers and press it gently into the grooves until it looks full. Then slowly wipe your thumb across to get rid of all the wax over the letters, just leaving the letters filled and the rest of it black.
-Voila, just let it dry and enjoy the cool new look.
-Add more wax if some parts are not quite filled, but you should be able to do it in one shot, I did.
-Now repeat all steps for the other side.
-If you do get wax in the fabric and have cleaned it several times but it still looks hazy, just grab a black sharpie. Dab it a few times in the fabric and blend it around with your finger. That will get it nice and black again.
