New to the site

Hey guys,

My name is Mike, picked up a 2011 335i with xdrive and M sport package a couple months ago for the girlfriend...so figured it was time to see what goes on in the online BMW world...well in Canada in this case haha...

Loving the car up to now, handles like a dream and is plenty fast... I'm actually starting to look for the BMW I've always wanted, an older 5 series...preferably a 530i, something around 2000-2003 with a manual transmission...

So hopefully the for sale section will come in handy in the next few months...

Anyway, thanks in advance for any answers to stupid questions I might have!

welcome to the board, congrats on the 335.

Are you sure you want a 530? That's going to be way slower than your 3.

530 is slower but an excellent all around car. Besides, the e39 is one of the last truly beautiful BMW's. Enjoy them while they are relativedly young still.

The 5 wouldn't be for speed, it's just one of those cars I've always wanted because of what the hamster said, I think it's one of the best looking sedans...we'll see, for now at least there is a nice BMW in the yard, that's the important thing!

i don't get big cars personally.. i like my car to be small and nimble.. maybe when im 40 I'll change my mind and be a boss in a 5... but I don't think I'll ever be able to put my own money into a land yacht 7 series.

hahaha I guess that's why they make all kinds...I love both, the small nimble ones and the bigger, more comfortable long distance cars...you are right though, a 7 series is getting a little too big even for me!

Thanks for the welcome....

Does anybody know if the N55 in my car is known for oil issues? It was down a quart the other day which I found strange on a car with 20k on it...it doesn't leak or seem to be burning anything...
