2004 M3 (e46) SMG Pedal Shifter only working intermittently.

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and have an insight on this before I go through getting it checked out at the stealership:

The pedal shifter (+) doesn't seem to want to work all the time, it works fir the first and the 2nd gear, and then it'd stop working. Sometimes it wont even work for the first and the 2nd.

The SMG Shifter knob works perfectly fine.
Is this something I can fix?

Theirs a microswitch behind the paddle that is possibly failing. From What I understand its not that expensive to replace and a easy DIY
