^^that's the best way to do it. If you argue too much with the csr's you can piss them off, which you dont want to do. Remember, its their job to offer you a better plan to keep you as a customer.
Finally, sasha, its the way the call is routed through the PBX that they see, your number isn't important (but it also comes up on the CRM)

Sasha,
i talked to my friends at rogers. Retentions should NEVER cancel you on the spot, its directly against their customer policy.
Ivan,
if you have less than 6 months left, they'll let you renew (offer you a retentions plan) as if your plan was expiring tomorrow.
|
I think you missed some info. I am on a month to month with Bell. No contract. There is no waiting period to renew anything. Would that put me in a better position because I am off the hook.

Then unless you have some pressing reason to switch, call bell, tell them you're going to go to rogers because they have a plan that has ABC for XYZ, and they'll probably match it

They want $35 after the taxes. I am not locked into any contract.... I used to have a data, but I used to get killer bills so i removed that. Never used but no idea what happened.. What you think?

thats the same plan i have but with 250 text messages. its pretty standard price for rogers/bell.. im assuming its corporate? I also get 10 cents a minute long distance to north america. I had bitched about paying for text messages that I receive, and paying for text messages/etc.... im gonna need to call them back and bitch some more though and get a better deal i think.
Last year I called in to negotiate a new contract and this is what I was offered:
200 day time
6pm unlmited evening/weekend
caller id/voice mail
250 text messages
6gbs of data
it came to $55 AFTER tax.
I never accepted it.

I've been pretty happy with fido (same thing as rogers but per second billing and almost everything is cheaper, but they don't have the best phones)
My second "retentions deal" contract:
200 min anytime
1000 min fido-fido
2500 txt
unlimited evenings/weekends after 5pm
$20+ tax
Recently added retentions data flex plan:
$10 for up to 100MB
$15 for up to 150MB
$20 for up to 500MB
$25 for up to 1GB

I wanna find out if rogers has flex data. I never use more than like 125mb unless i tether, and even then, i've never used my full amount.

They did, but it was 20 or 25 for the lowest level, which was dumb.
I'll post my plan tomorrow.

i'm almost certain rogers has, or has had some data plan for 15/ month. It may have been a retentions only addon.
