S38B36 - low cold compression, 2 cylinders
So... I ran a compression test (cold) on the S38b36. 2 cylinders measure ~90psi compression, the rest are a snappy 180-190.
Ran the motor for a few minutes, rechecked, and the compression was 170 or so.
Before I put the motor in the E30, I could:
1) Hope that the low compression was from sitting, and will get better with some driving (the PO assures me the car ran well when parked)
2) Pull the head now, spend the $500 on a gasket kit.
Anyone know how hard it would be to pull the head once in the car (e30)?
