So i attempted this on the weekend. Took me a few hrs and by the end of it lost a few pounds!! lol.. I am fairly pleased with the end result..however, SOME swirls can still be seen. I did everything by hand, so maybe that would be the reason why..if i used a hand buffer the result would probably be a lot better. A nice glass finish none the less.

What is the best polish to use on my oem 19" wheels. They are the chrome looking M3 rims. Also what is best to use on the chrome pipes? I figured chrome polish but not too sure and dont want to attempt anything before getting real advice.

I'd like to post that in my experience the only way to get rid of swirls effectively is with an orbital polisher, cutting pad, heat and a cutting agent.

Second that. You can do a reasonable job by hand and for good paint it will look decent. But if you want mirror-like finish, you'd need a random orbit polisher. That gizmo just does the job like no other.

Too bad you can't rent one. Looking at getting a Porter-Cable XP but it's a bit of overkill of a once a year job, isn't it?
