BMW service cards?

True or False

BMW issues a service card that includes information on the service history of the vehicle instead of providing a paper copy of said repair/service.

Anyone heard of this?

Hmm interesting. I don't really see the point to this though. Maybe more efficient for them?

I have a service card from the previous owner in the glove box of my 530. No idea what it's for though.
