Hey Jay,
I'm looking at ESM 002s staggered in 16x7.5 front and 16x9 rear (ET20 works best you say?) wondering if the rear will clear everything without/with minimal poke.
Not opposed to mild fender rolling and a small amount of stretch.
and if it works, what tire sizes would you recommend?

Yup, I helped ESM with those ones so they fit very well. Shameless plug. Go for the +20 all around, and the rears will require a slight, basic fender roll depending on ride height and spring rate.

205/45 and 225/40, respectively. Discount Tire Direct still carries the Falken 512 (excellent tire) in those sizes for cheap, plus free shipping to Canada (they add duties/taxes at checkout).

Hi Jay. I thought stock tires for the E30 325i were 195/65-14. According to the tire size calculator, if I go for 16s with 9.5 width offset +20 for the rear, best fit would be 245/45. This will at least cover the 9.5 width. Will there be issues? Variance from stock diameter is about +17mm.

225/40 has recommended rim width of 7-8.5, per 1010 Tires' calculator.

Thanks for the help.

My apologies. Wheel specs are:

Front: 16 X 7.5 ET 20
Rear: 16 X 9 ET 20

I think you mean 245/35. That will fit with an aggressive fender pull only. To avoid heavy work 225/40 is recommended.

At least 15mm front spacers (I'd go 25mm bolt-ons for even fitment).

Question was "staggered wheels on IX" pros and cons, and tire size

Oh. No cons besides understeer as long as you get the diameters correct. 205/45 front 225/40 rear will make the transfer case happy.

How about "spacers"

205/45-16.......et35...front
225/40-16.......et15...rear

..............."remember it's an IX"

also....225/45 16 all around seems to be the best fit if wheels are not staggered......your tire sizes are 3.01[front] 3.76 [rear]% diameter difference

225/45 16...is only .05 diameter diferrence>>195/65 14

To fit the rears with 225s on an iX you will need to rip apart the fenders. Wouldn't recommend it.

205/45/16 all around and 15mm front spacers. You have to go undersized on the diameter for clearance purposes, 24" diameters won't fit with those offsets.
