So I got me a 2004 545i!

It's a nice upgrade from my 528 e39. Didn't realize that the 545's have blue tooth option, but mine didn't. I called the BMW dealer and they said it will cost $3,000 for the TCU, programing and iDrive software update.

Has anyone added blue tooth to their E60 after the fact and what were your experiences?

Thanks

I have factory bluetooth in my 545 so I dont have experience in regards to specifically adding after the fact, but for $3000 it's definitely not worth investing in the car just for this function. One thing I do know is that your chances of getting an independent shop to successfully integrate "factory" bluetooth in order to save cost are next to zero. Outside the dealer environment, it is difficult to get anyone to "mess" around or alter anything on these cars in relation to the electronics.

Check the trunk if you have the TCU unit, if you have it you only need to get the software from bmw. I think they charge it for 2 hours?
