Just to add regarding the oil consumption, since 330s are notorious for burning oil (more so then the 325s) here is a break down of my oil consumption since I got my car.

BMW Castrol 5w30 --- Oil consumption was about 1L per 1000km

Manhiem 5w40 --- Oil consumpotion was about 1L per 2000km

Manhiem 5w40 + Lucas --- Oil consumption is now about 1L per 5000km

This is also without any other engine work. So for all of the 330 guys that are wasting money filling up on oil I would suggest changing oil and adding some Lucas with the oil change.

It will probably help.

I know that Castrol is the dealer recommend and all...but there are much better products on the market. I would highly recommend the Mannhiem

I have a 325 and my buddy has a 330M Package and between the two of us, the car costs the same minus a few items maintenance wise. I love my 325 but the extra hp would have been nice to have. If performance isn't an issue, grab a nice 325 and later on add in some of the 330 goodies and m package goodies like I am doing (lenses, halos, m package kit, etc.). 330's do burn oil (never had an issue with my 325 yet and I have 100,000km's now) and most small issues on a 330 are found on almost all E46 non-M cars anyways (control arm bushings).
