Aftermarket head unit problem

Hi guys, i just decided to replace oem radio on my new 325, so I installed sony aftermarket radio (i pull it with wiring from my previous e46) but only am/fm radio works no cd/usb..actually it works but no sound from speakers only from cd/usb, radio works fine.
What i have to check? Maybe its because this car has harman/kardon sound and privious one not?

Is the CD unit built in to the radio or separate?

Yes its the same head unit, i have absolutely no idea because i checked everytnig, i even tried to connect my friends radio and it has the same problem: i cal listen just the radio not cd or usb, the dash shows that it plays but i have no sound...

If it is a late model radio
you can change the output options for the sound
try it see if you radio output option match the cd or usb

No unfortunaly there is no output settings...
So anybody has aftermarket head unit with h/k sound system?

Well your problem is that you have not connect the remote amp wire. The blue wire of the aftermarket harness should connect to the blue/white wire of the factory harness. This will power on the amp therefore allowing sound.

I however have another problem in my '00 323i. After hooking up an alpine HU, my unit still doesn't have sound. When I connect sound through RCAs everything plays just fine but when I try to use the speaker wiring, I hear nothing. Can't figure this out for the life of me.
