ASC is traction control.
In Canada the ASC/DSC split is wierder. My '02 Touring had ASC but my '03 sedan has DSC.

It was optional; my 01 330ci has ASC and my 01 330ci Individual has DSC...
I've seen DSC as early as 2000 323's...

How are you determining if is has ASC or DSC? my '02 325ci's button says ASC, but I tested some of the DSC features and my car seamed to have have it (like Engine Drag Torque Reduction)
Maybe they just continued to call is ASC in Canada for a while?

Not a bad car, but do you really want auto and no sport pack? Aren't these boring to drive? Why not go for stick and sport pack?
