Where'd you land the tie rods? They usually go for around $100.

I remember this one test day that we took a car to at Mosport, hooked up a standalone knock sensor system and mounted the gauge in the car to monitor what was going on. Because it had solid mounts, it would register that the car was knocking even OFF throttle. At first we thought the system was bad, or maybe the sensor shit the bed, but we hooked it up to my car, and it worked fine! *shrugs*
It'll be fine with solid mounts. The knock system shouldn't react to random knock noises. You can test your knock system by seeing if it's picking up the various knocks but the frequency of detonation is in a very narrow window and should be tuned for at the factory (it's very nicely related to the cylinder bore size), so the system should be able to do a very good job at filtering noise.

I don't get the whole solid engine mount, solid transmission mount, etc.

Cracked subframe ftw?

They reduce drivetrain loss, and Massively improve the way the power is sent to the ground.

I also need them to use the Bimmerworld shifter

And no, the subframe wil not crack.

it will have some sweet throttle response thats for sure....and those tranny mounts will add a lot of nvh which is winning in a weekend/racer type.

id even put up with more in a daily...though not solid in these cars lol.

Got the flywheel and clutch all sorted out, transmission back in. Solid tranny mounts for now.

Installed Bimmerworld's Race Shifter and took it for a quick drive.

Also the first time I've tried it since putting the 3.73 in. The gearing doesn't feel as short as I thought it would be.

But wow, the Bimmerworld shifter is out of this world. Best shifter I have felt ever! So solid. I can't even explain how great it is.

Weekend project will probably involve getting the front subframe plates welded in so I can install the Solid engine mounts.

Today I got the front subframe plates welded in and put the solid motor mounts in.

Need to get the new tie rods in. Also need a fresh set of control arms still.
