"Trunklid Open"

I have a "trunklid open" error on the dash on my 2003 540i.

The trunk locks and unlocks with the remote. No problems except for the #$%^&*( error message

I have pulled out all the wiring and still didnt find anything broken. No wires frayed, nothing.

I have installed a new trunklock actuator and still the same error. I am completely puzzled

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I realize this is a bit late, but check the wiring harness where it enters the trunk. These can chafe and short, making for trouble.

yes...its true was not an issue on my car...turned out to be the GM3...
