where to get the top redone in s.ontario?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a shop in Southern Ontario that can do a good job replacing an E30 top at a reasonable price?
Looking for recommendations from someone who has had it done.

thanks
John

I haven't just yet. I bought the roof but now have to source a trim shop to do it. I believe it will cost approx 500.00 to install not including the material. If you haven't bought one yet, make sure you get the correct one since two types exist. One with sewn in plastic manual roof and power roof, zip in window if I'm not mistaken.

Ken Cosgrove Engines in Thorold Ontario is very reputable. Ken is second generation at the business and has a staff. They are legit professional and follow specs, so it doesn't matter if it's a e30 head, and 350 head, a 2.2L sunfire head! They get it back to spec for you AND they're really good to deal with

I should have specified....convertible top, not engine top end.

I find it funny when i was selling a full roof AND frame in new condition for $1000, people were shocked how "expensive" it was, altho it bolts on under 30min!!! People tend to forget a good install will run you the same or more then the price of a cheap top!

the problem with buying someone elses top is you don't know what the quality is and there is a difference. Two, the age of the top. but yes, much easier to remove frame with top then to remove fabric and replace. I can get a brand new fabric between 250-500 depending on quality plus 300-500 install. So it ends up being between 700-1000. I think that is worth it if you have access to quality authentic canvas and a trim shop. But most don't and most end up paying well over a grand for one put on. I don't think 1000 is unreasonable considering it is a roof and a hard top for the vert cost that much. It seems everything for a vert fetches a premium.

I've always thought that giving a boat shop a call to see who they'd recommend for installs. There's gotta be a place that replaces canvas roofs on boats all the time. You'd figure a car would be no different.

Port Credit Marina - few places that do interiors and boat sails / roofs are located in the big boat house
cheap and will make the top waterproof with a sealer
