G Power Typhoon RS BMW X6M
Offering the driver 555 hp to play with, the BMW X6 M is one of the hottest SUVs on the planet but for tuners power is nothing without... more power.
The German G-Power tuner is now promising that it will offer the world’s fastest SUV, with the project using the X6 M as a base. The company has made a bold claim, preparing us for the launch of a 900 hp SUV that would exceed the 205 mph (330 km/h) mark, reach 62mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and leave the 124 mph (200 km/h) mark behind in 13 seconds.
Dubbed, G Power Typhoon X6 M, the vehicle has ditched the standard 4.4 liter turbocharged engine, borrowing the M5’s 5.0 liter V10 engine, which has been offered a 5.5 liter capacity. The powerplant has been fitted with twin ASA T1-316 compressors (taken from the G-POWER M5 HURRICANE world-record sedan), a double-floe, water-cooled intercooler, an aluminum casting air box, as well as upgraded internals such as MAHLE forged pistons. The result? 900 HP at 8.000 rpm and 870 Nm of torque at 6.800 rpm
The vehicle also uses a forged, seven bearing crankshaft, a six speed gearbox developed in-house by the tuner, with the BMW xDrive four wheel drive system being sacrificed.
To cope with all that power, the vehicle has been fitted with a modified suspension system, as well as with a carbon ceramic braking system using 410mm rotors and six piston calipers, which provides top stopping power and also saves weight.
The vehicle also offers a weight reduction (achieved through the ditching of the AWD system and the use of lightweight materials such as titanium and carbon fiber), tipping the scales 150 kg lower than the standard vehicle. The SUV rides on 23 inch rims wrapped in 315.25 Michelin tires.
Only 5 units of the G Power Typhoon X6 M will be built, so don’t expect to see one too soon.
