So you want to strip a car down and sell most things, while getting rid of the shell in about a month? Those are some high hopes. Your going to have to store most of the parts.

Yeah I'm ambitious!
Like I said, if I sell what I can in a month and then hoarde whatever good parts are left, I should be okay. It seems better then selling it at a loss and letting someone else make money off of it... But time will tell.

Update!
Totally worth it money wise and I would definitely do it again!
End result...

A little over $4,000 so far and I still have a lot more good parts left. Considering that the most I was offered was $1,500 for the car as a whole I would say it was worth it.
I was selling parts very cheap though because I really just wanted to get rid of it and as long as I got more then what I was offered for the whole car then I was happy.
The biggest payoff for me was the experience itself.

Haha, yeah man that's cool! Definitely fun to take a car apart. I was just curious... Sadly, the thought has crossed my mind lately for my car.

You really want to get rid of it? I hope you are looking at something other then an E30 because it will be hard to find one better then yours.

Yeah its looking that way. I'm pretty set on getting something that is faster and more track-oriented. Plus I'm starting to get over the having a 'cool car for the street' thing. I must be getting old?! lol

If you have a daily driver and the means to accommodate a car that is dedicated for track use (storage space, tow vehicle, trailer) then I totally understand. It would be nice to have a car that is more focused rather then having to make compromises because it needs to be liveable and legal.
Couldn't you achieve this with the E30 or do you not want to butcher it?
What else would you consider?

Generally speaking, newer = faster (unless your name is Noid, and like ass backward technology )
If it were two years ago, I would have been all up for gutting the E30 and getting pretty serious about it... but back then, I wasn't terribly serious about track/racing related stuff, and also driving skill has changed considerably since then. I'm just up for a new challenge I guess.
