Just stepped into an E30

so ever since owning a e46 i've grown to appreciate the e30.
I came across a e30 325e that needed some TLC. I picked it up for $900.
The front and rear wheel bearings are shot, for some reason it drinks gas like a pig, and with the holes in the muffler it sounds like a v8.

But i still love this car even with the awful vibration due to the wheel bearing,
kinda annoying that this car goes threw gas faster then my 330, and the v8 sounding exhaust at times does annoy me. Like i said its going to need some TLC

I'm starting to understand why some of you really love your e30's
It must be because of the time you put into it.
I know i'm going to be putting lots of time into this car, as it needs it.
As soon as i fix these issues i'll be.

A. turning it into a 2.7 stroker
B. Turbo
C. Burn rubber with a smile on my face

No stroker for you as it's already a 2.7. I assume you mean put an 'i' head on it so that you can rev the piss out of it
Fuel consumption could be a number of things. Give it a proper tune up and that should help you find out what's wrong:
- valve adjustment
- new plugs
- new wires (depending on their condition)
- rebuild or replace the injectors
- new air filter
- new fuel filter

Welcome to the club

I was wondering about that!! Does anyone know a fix other than a new tank? (that is turning out to be quite the search!)

Sometimes it's not the tank but the filler tube or the overflow tank above the right rear wheel. I've even seen someone change the in tank pump and not put a new gasket on it... which then leaks in corners when it's over 1/2 full.

Mine used to spill after a full tank cuz the filler neck. Stupid E30 >_< Thankfully I put mine in the grave next week after I sell the IX rims. I'll have to save and buy another one in a few years after I get more $$ flow!!!

^ Sucks that you did all that work on the car and only drove it for a few months.

You mean after they get picked up this weekend. They're sold!
Replaced my R/R caliper last night and getting my L/R wheel bearing replaced today so that she's good to go for the road trip. Nothing's stopping me from picking those rims up!

Oh and mine leaks from the filler neck as well. Just can't fill it up too much!
